That was ridiculous. Fuckin rockin the dubstep man, excellent work. Wasn't too impressed by the intro but when it gets goin it can't be stopped.

Very chill, I'm diggin this remix, but that sine synth in the beginning is EQ'd way out of whack. It dominates everything and once you dropped it it blended much better. Other than that I love the chords you used under the vocal clips, excellent remix.

LOL! i love the audio clips, not to mention how sick the bass and melody lines are. The Navi quote was super random though, I'm not entirely sure I liked it. It didn't ruin it, but... eh.

Anyway, super nice work, keep it up. :D

CowardlyLion responds:

Thank you very much! Haha yes it was very random. It was just in case someone doesn't know that music is for listening. Haha, thanks for listening! Cheers.

I like how it drops sort of softly into the dubstep section without any kind of hard break or build, makes it sort of fluid and trippy. I like your intro on this one, catchy melody, but I feel like at around 1:00 when you build it up, it sounds too much like you're going to drop or break right there instead of repeating, and it just doesn't flow as smoothly as it could. Another thing you might want to spend some time on is adding more percussion to add more rhythm, and maybe another high-end synth to give some more atmosphere. Other than that this is sounding very good so far, pretty catchy. Might need a break section or a bridge, but catchy.

AsteroidBlues responds:

Helpful tips, thanks a lot ) I don`t think i`ll be editing this one soon, but sure as hell i will add your pointers to the next one ;)

Awesome track, the audio clip was pretty funny, nice touch. To me the bass sound like a robot trying to rap with a full mouth. xD Still sounds pretty sweet though, I feel like maybe one or two more audio clips placed throughout at seemingly random times would be cool. Anyway, good work so far.

zlarke responds:

thanks for the ideas and feedback! will try to do that. :]

Very nice remix, I agree with everyone that the pluck synth you used in the intro. Maybe it's just an opinion but I don't really like all the glitching on the vocals. A tasteful amount never bothers me but sometimes it gets to be too much, ya know what I mean? It still sounds pretty good, so very nice work.

inhstudios responds:

Yeah, i know what you're saying. there's so much I'd want to change on this track now...

The intro is very cool, with the kick and the chords blending in a very unique way. My first issue is that the last chord in the block has a bit too much dissonance, maybe tone it back just a bit, or at least bring it out more later in the song. The hihat is also just a bit too loud to match the rest of the song's ambient/trance feel. I also feel like it's missing something to really give it some pop, like a raw, ripping saw synth, or a pulse pad. I would also recommend throwing in a bridge or at least a change of chord progression. Anyway, other than that it's very chill and I like what you have so far. :D

Agree, besides it's just an experiment. I didn't follow many of the "rules" I make myself on the spot just for the sake of fun and curiosity. In fact it's pretty much copypasta for 8 minutes and it was really to study a bit some samples I had and how they "fit" in such a context. I've heard some Trance around and it's rare to find atmospheres like the one I made, primarily because they apparently enjoy raping your ears by maxing EVERY FUCKING SOUND to 11 and more. Yup. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts ;)

I like how you wrote an original song using samples from the game rather than just remixing a well-known zelda song. In the beginning Link's yelling got a bit annoying, same when you brought it back in. If you could find another way to work it into the song without it being so repetitive, or maybe try to find more samples of his shouts. I also like how you keep progressing throughout the song, and the bit with link getting hurt and ganon's laugh. lol. Great work. :D

CowardlyLion responds:

Yeah I thought it was a little repetitive myself. I'll have to see if I can work on it sometime. Glad you caught the whole Ganon laughing at Link haha.

For a long time I've been looking for some kind of a mix of Marching band music and Dubstep, just to see if it could be cool. That first song is as close as I can imagine it could be and it was super filthy. The rest of the mix is awesome too. Very unique original sounds, hard to find anymore.

MessanyRecordings responds:

Thanks mate.
I'll try to find more talents like this and support them with a mix :)

Everything was cool till those drums came in. They're way too quiet and just not what I was expecting to hear with the guitar. I wish I could just play a set to show you what I think would fit better, lol. But less crash, actually none. No crash. Just a raw kick with a punching snare and an open hat. Have the beat start out simple and slowly evolve into more fills and improvising as you build the song.

Anyway, the song itself was super chill, I like the main guitar melody. Everyone's visualizations of a city match very well, haha. Good work. :D

KKSlider60 responds:

I know I should totally need to upgrade or replace the acoustic drums, in fact, I treat them as placeholders like they're from a general MIDI soundfont or something.
Thanks for the tips ^^
