Wow. This is one of those track you just want to sit and listen to and think about all kinds of things. That is until the beat drops and you want to dance and listen and think about things, hahaha. I love the intro as much as I love the rest of it, and I would love to see it have a really long break section like the intro but with a lot of dynamics and solo synths. Also, I think I'd classify this as progressive house, but I'm no expert. :P

You could easily make this song 20 minutes long and no one would mind. Very nice work.

Kassich responds:

thanks for listening! It definitely has a progressive house feel to it! I wish i still had the files for this audio project, I would have been able to make a 20 min version ;)

This song clearly rocks major balls, very nice work. My only question is why is it called "The Contract"? :P

JasonHorecky responds:

Thank you so much :D It means a lot :D I posted a question on my facebook page on what it should be called and that was a top choice so I picked it :P

Interesting song, I like how you made the kick and bass different enough that they could blend without the need for hard sidechaining. The chord progression is nice and the addition of different leads keeps it from getting stale, but I would still suggest adding a break section with a differing feel, something that blends with the rest of the song but also stands out. Nice work so far.

Thank you!

bangin' so far. Solid kick and synth lines. Really all you need to worry about now is keeping it fresh throughout the song. Good work.

This is surprisingly groovy. The intro is very well chill, and that tease of a chord before the break is a nice touch. However, when the beat comes back in it's hard to tell if the bass is in tune. It's a good bass synth, just kind of an odd melody, not sure how to feel about it. It's almost creepy at the same time it's upbeat. My only suggestion is to clean up the bass, it sounds like maybe you used more than one synth to achieve the sound but somehow it got out of tune.

seems solid so far, it'd be nice to hear where you go with it. That lead bell synth definitely sounds upbeat but its rhythm is a bit confusing. Maybe later into the song you can add another harmony synth with a varying but similar rhythm to balance it out.

alvys18 responds:

thanks man!

This track is sweet man, you definitely have a knack for chord progression and the flow of a good trance song. How did you EQ this? It sounds like you've done an alright job of it already but it could still have a bigger sound. I would suggest exploring and experimenting more with all your synths and samples to pull away from typical sounds and develope your own unique trance style. Other than that it's all gravy man, very nice song.

btw which program are you using?

Ditchy responds:

Hey dude, cheers.

I use fruity loops atm, as I am still confused with reason. I tend to use my fantom roland G8 to get a synth or idea for the main song.

Even thought you might not have spent a lot of time on it, it's very good work. I like how it progressively builds through the entire song, the rhythm keeps getting better. The bass you used towards the end doesn't mesh quite right with the acoustic instruments, maybe just some extra EQing could help, but that's really my only problem with it. Very cool. :D

Super groovy. :D It makes you want to dance but it's all chill about it. The variety throughout the song also adds a lot more interest. However, I feel like the side chaining on the bass feels a bit too heavy sometimes. It might be on purpose to give it more rhythm, but if you bass up the kick you wouldn't have to duck the bass quite as hard and you'd still have a full sound. At the same time all the technical bits of a song are hard to judge just by listening, you know what you're doing with the program. Very nice work. :D

KittenBeat responds:

I didn't side-chain because I had to, I side-chained because I thought it sounds WICKED SICK.

Thank you come again. x3

Certainly was filthy, awesome bass sound. Those audio clips got a bit annoying, but during the bass sections it wasn't too much, just when it keeps repeating. That kiss my ass bit made me laugh though. :P All in all it's very good work, keep it up.

theofficialdoughboys responds:

thanks a latte sir...the clips do get kinda annoying but thats like the song LOL those are the clips from The aviator with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Meh.
