Pretty awesome.

It is repetitive, like you said, but still good. haha. Cool beat to it, and the melody is catchy too. Good sound in the synths. Cool build towards the end there. Good work.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked it :D

While not totally original...

It was entirely written by him, not recorded and put into a program. I think. Anyway, the majority of song writing is all about being inspired by someone else's work and stealing bits of it to make your own. If you do turn this into a full length song, I'm sure you'll be more creative and independent with it. And if you don't, then at least make it loop better. haha.

geno136 responds:

I plan to make it more creative and independent. This was just getting the thought out and seeing how people took the sample. In fact, I might as well add more to this right now so that people don't get the wrong impression as the other guy did.

I was actually trying to work on the Ice Cap, but that took a serious backseat in trying to make some great of it.

EDIT: And now it's 41 seconds longer, added with a Trumpet section.

Cool.

I can see what you mean with the ships in the storm. The visual matches up very well. I think the only problem with it is that it could use more bass in the equalization, there's just not enough power to support what the song is going for. You need the impact of the waves, the whip of the sails as the wind tears them to pieces. I also like the parts where it calms everything down with the high pitched strings. It puts the image of the storm clearing in my mind, or maybe just the eye of the storm. Either way, good work.

samulis responds:

I'll see about helping out the bass part a bit more when I work on the final score, thanks for the feedback. In the actual film, I'll add sound effects such as wind and rain, etc.

Pretty cool.

A good quality sample. I think the only thing it's missing is lyrics and someone with a deep, sexy voice. haha. Good work.

bobiscoo32 responds:

Thanks man, I have a rapper lined up to do alot of my tracks and I'll make sure to tell him to make the chorus deep and sexy (sounds wrong).

Thanks for the review. I'll go check out some of your shit right now :)

Really chill.

I loved the intro. Very smooth. The general idea behind dubstep is that it's supposed to be gritty and dark, but I think that who perception is more limiting to the genre than helpful. I love the bass that comes in at around 1:40. I only had my little 50 watt sub on and it sounded massive. haha. The melody that comes in after that is really catchy. Crap, it's gunna get stuck in my head, I know it. haha. i don't see anything wrong with this, other than maybe I would do the equalizing a bit differently, but that's just differing artistic views. Awesome song. Keep workin at dub, you're pretty darn good.

nightsurfermusic responds:

Thanks. It's takes a shitload of time to make these though, they come slowly. This will probably be my last large piece for a while.

Thanks for the love all the same. :)

Cool stuff.

It's not too repetitive, real catchy beat. As i write that i think to myself, it's not really a different beat, kind of generic... nvmd, the beat is a beat. but the melody and sound itself is very good. :P I find myself tapping my foot to it. Good work, sounds noice.

Adjeye responds:

Thanks... Yeah I need to work on my beats... Don't know much different kind of progressive beats right now.. And its never the melody were I am unhappy about :P

...odd.

hahaha. That would be a good voice for a flash animation. And if that came out of my mouth I'd be crying too.

McDugals responds:

thats what she said haha

Cool

I love the chord progression. I think this would fit better in New Wave though. Great melody, and good sound overall. The piano part at around 3 minutes is very cool. Good work.

AsteroidBlues responds:

Thanks ^^

You're right.

The lack of melody isn't an issue. The beats and rhythms are musical enough. And the visual of ants building a city is perfect for it, haha. Great bass sound in it, and I like how it's really rough, but not too harsh. Great work.

Laverne responds:

Thanks RobinDB. I spent awhile balancing the soft and hard elements. Whew! :D

Pretty good.

Personally I think the snare sounds too light. In the beginning it sounds a bit like a... oooh what are those things called... the little tappy things used for morse code... You know what I'm talking about, right? Other than that, nice orchestration, sounds pretty nice. I don't get the image of a supernova with this song though, I get something more like a medieval town preparing for war or something. haha. Probably just because of the classic genre. Good work.

shooter0078 responds:

Ha! Now that you mention it, I do see a medival town. Oh well, I'm glad you liked it.

Meh.
